Sacramental Preparation

Our Sacramental preparation Masses begin this weekend and the children will be responsible for the second reading and prayer of the faithful as well as bringing the gifts of bread and wine to the altar. At the 7.30pm this Saturday evening it will St Brendan’s PS and at the 10.30am Mass on Sunday morning it will be Killeen NS and our Parish Preparation Programme. The other schools will begin next weekend, 14/15 October.

Interior Re-decoration St Brendan’s

The interior redecoration of St Brendan’s Church has commenced and to facilitate the work, the daily 10am Mass will be held in the Marian Hall Monday – Friday. In agreement with our painting contractor, Noel Coughlan, all weekend Masses, funerals, weddings and will be accommodated in St Brendan’s Church. We ask for your understanding and co- operation during the work which is scheduled to be completed by the end of October. Please note the Parish Office will remain open as normal during this work as will the Adoration Chapel.

Confirmation, Holy Communion and Reconciliation 2018 Meetings for parents of children preparing for these Sacraments will take place as follows: Tuesday 19 September         Reconciliation & Holy Communion Wednesday 20 September  Confirmation The meetings will be in the Marian Hall each evening at 8pm. World Meeting of Families 2018

Preparations are underway in our Diocese for the World Meeting of Families which will take place in Dublin in August 2018. A very important half day diocesan conference for the World Meeting of Families takes place on Saturday September 23rd from 9.30am to 1.30pm in the Oakwood Hotel, Shannon. Parish Pastoral Council

At Wednesday’s meeting the contract for the painting of St Brendan’s Church was awarded to Noel Coughlan Painters. Arrangements for liturgies in the Autumn and Winter were agreed; a group is to be trained to lead liturgies on Saturday mornings during Advent in place of the 10am Mass for a trial period. The funeral team is also to be put in place and trained in the area of conducting the reception of funerals and burials. A nominee to represent the PPC will be appointed to the Marian Hall committee.
