Icon of World Meeting of Families

Thanks to all who prepared and participated in liturgies for the visit of the official icon of the World Meeting of Families which was in St Brendan’s Church Birr from Monday 9 to Thursday 12 July. There were great attendances and many visitors during this special week. All petitions will be presented as part of the Papal Mass in the Phoenix Park in Dublin this August.

The theme  of the meetings is  “What do we need to say to Pope Francis about the Irish Church?”  These meetings are open to everybody, not just ACP members. They will afford an opportunity to everyone to make a submission. Killaloe Diocesan Appointments

  Bishop Fintan Monahan has announced diocesan appointments for 2018. Fr Rexon Chullickal has been appointed as curate to the Nenagh cluster and will live in Nenagh. Fr David Carroll has been appointed co-PP covering a number of parishes in East Clare and will live in Bodyke, County Clare. Sacramental Preparation 2018-2020

If your child is attending a school other than our Catholic parish schools and you would like them to prepare for the Sacraments of Reconciliation, First Communion or Confirmation, please register your interest with Joan Hogan our Sacramental Co-ordinator before 31 May on 089 4400853. There is a two-year programme for children not attending a faith-based school so a child who intends to receive the Sacrament in 2020, their preparation must begin this September. You are welcome to chat with Joan or any of the parish team for further details on the programme.
