The celebration of Reconciliation for the first time by the children in Carrig NS will take place on this Wednesday, 22 March. We will gather at 8pm in the Church of the Annunciation Carrig for this special celebration and all are welcome to join; after the ceremony is finished there will be an opportunity for all present to avail of the Sacrament of Reconciliation. Please keep the children, their families and teachers in your prayers as they prepare for this great Sacrament.

On Tuesday 21 & 28 March and Tuesday 4 April at 8pm you are invited to a prayer and reflection on the word of God in the Methodist Church. This is being organised by Birr Churches Together, a join effort of all the Christian churches in Birr. Some Taizé music and chants with a reading of the Gospel and quiet time to reflect on the Word – no lectures! Come, sit and enjoy something that is all too rare in our our world – quiet time.

Children’s Liturgy

Children’s Liturgy during Mass makes a welcome return to St Brendan’s Church. Transition Year Students from St. Brendan’s Community School who are undertaking their John Paul II award will be running the Liturgy on the Sundays of Lent during 10.30am Mass. It will be fully supervised. All children between the ages of 5 & 10 are welcome to attend; the children will be invited to the Conference Room at the beginning of Mass and will return to the church after Holy Communion. The PPC met recently and was addressed by Fr Ger Nash, director of pastoral planning in the diocese of Killaloe. His words gave the PPC a sense of direction for the coming year.
